Bakers Delight is big business with franchises in Australia, New Zealand and Canada. Bakers Delight/COBS attempted to break in the lucrative American market- but failed.
In Australia, Bakers Delight boasts 700 stores and sells their business model around those "700 successful businesses".
Some franchisors manipulate statistics to hide the true state of their networks, including multiple failures, bankruptcy, terminations and non viable businesses.
According to Baker's Delight's own financial report for 2011 and 2012, its "key business strategy is to buy and sell bakeries". The conscientious observor would note that its business strategy does not include building franchisee businesses.
Most of the businesses listed below have had numerous failures, our best estimate is an average of 3 failures for each business, and are still operating which perpetuates the lie, creates the illusion of success and conceals the practice of franchise churn.
It has become more evident that bakers delight has morphed into a ponzi scheme with the sole purpose of extracting as much money from franchisees before intentionally sending them under and using unfair contract clauses to eject franchisees from the system.
Below is a list of Bakers Delight stores where the franchisee has failed, been terminated, bankrupted, or simply walked away. There has also been reports of franchisees loosing their business because Bakers Delight forgot to negotiate the lease.
"Baker's Delight doesn't churn!" WHAT A JOKE! How on earth do they explain this appalling and growing list of failures, and how is this destruction legal? Why are you still trading, Baker's Delight?
